REVIEWS :

Sigillum S brand of noise culture is one of extreme dynamics, blasting huge pulses of electricity across the otherwise quiet, ambient landscape. They match a ClockDVAesque fascination with the neural and electronic networks, the sensuality of the body, and the ecstasy of magick, with a willingness to soil themselves. No restraint here, Sigillum S plunge head first into their inspirations and paint the results large with tones, drones and crashes. It's a chaotic union of electronic and industrial musics, potent, passionate and rather grotesque. A special mention for their fine track titles (Mother Sow Giving Birth Under a Lab Balcony opens this CD and Mouthwatering God Corporation finishes it). Overall, it's a very enjoyable blend of the tonal and atonal.

[...]into the brain like something by WHITEHOUSE & should be banished to the land of the Old Ones. This is a genuinely disturbing album - they managed to create a deep-reaching chill which emanates from the speakers and into your bones. They seem to be good musicians, playing their instruments more for effect than for musical structure. This one should worry the neighbours.

This CD is a Ltd. Edition of 500 - 100 of which come with a hand-made copper engraved sleeve. I'd never heard any SIGILLUM S before, but was aware they'd already released a number of records. SIGILLUM S produce music using mainly electronics, and the odd guitar here and there. Melody is not often used, and the same goes for rhythm. This gives the recording an almost 'improvised' feel to it, which is good. Highlights are the opening track "Mother Sow Giving Birth Under A Lab Balcony" and "Fingerprints Of Memory Immortality" which are dramatic electro-acoustic pieces, "Countless Bauty Survivals" and "Mouth-watering God Corporation" which are probably the most rhythmic tracks and "Allocation And Paradox" which is an excellent manipulation of electronics.

..................................................

Dramatic, mostly electronic disc, packaged in an equally striking copper wrapping. "Mother Sow Giving Birth Under A Lab Balcony" is marked by a zap-zap-zap that sounds like bodies hitting an electric fence. Anxious orchestral sounds build, as you make a pulse-pounding, adrenaline-filled escape. "She Loves Drinking Herself" suggests swimming through an alien ocean, brushing past all sorts of unidentified debris, while the rhythmic pounding of "Countless Beauty Survives" gets louder and louder, encroaching upon your personal space. "Tox ... By Folding The Spine" combines freaky laughter with plinking piano; "Human Chainsaw" and "Allocation And Paradox" have harsh, bitter vocals reminiscent of MICHAEL GIRA; and guitars come into play on "Neuroplis", echoing sharply against synths of discontent. Finally, "Mouthwatering God Corporation" moves from an ominous clanking and grossly manipulated vocals into the loud grinding and whirring that culminates the album. "Quantum Leaps" is sure to stimulate the imagination.
